Red
Letter Mission
| The
mission of Red Letter Consulting is to provide comprehensive assistance
to human service agencies to increase their ability to help vulnerable
populations. |
| I
founded Red Letter based on my experience in 25 years of work
in human services program delivery, development, management, and
consultation. What I've observed is that while every agency has
areas of strength relative to their service mission, most agencies
have limited capacity for fund development and organizational
planning to help them access shifting Federal, State, and Foundation
funding sources. |
| I have direct-service
and planning experience in diverse Funding
and Policy Areas with particular focus on Education and Youth
Programs, Family Economic Self-Sufficiency, and Community Building
and Development. My philosophy towards grant development and capacity
can be summed up in the following four principles: |
|
|
Proper
planning yields better projects that your agency can implement
more effectively and sustain down the road, |
| |
|
The pursuit
of grants or other funding sources is a goal that needs to be
embraced at every level of your agency's culture, |
| |
|
This year's
grant is really for where you want to be three
years from now! |
| |
|
Honestly
evaluating the effects and outcomes of your programs is the best
route to long term agency success. |
| The
purpose of Red Letter is to help agencies understand how to embrace
these principles and integrate them into a strong and effective
growth and fund development strategy. While I have incredible
success pursuing grants for my clients, I find that the most valuable
thing I offer to clients is how to use grants more effectively
more more effective programs and better services for their target
community. |
